what about a download-area for the "basic" files, like manual, current firmware, test models?
upload and monitoring could be done by the admin, to prevent abuse.
files via PM or email to the admin
i do not mean an area like thingi, but sometimes it is tricky to remember and find the right thread, where a file is included.
