Need Help

Need help with my Mars I just got. When I press the tools-->manual--> button to make it go all the way down it touches plate and doesn't think its all the way down and makes a whining bring sound. When I abort a print because it's not printing it will raise and lift the cover off the machine. I've the set zero button and it says it's decided by trigger position.

I did a google search but im  at a loss now
