Yes, side-to-side. It seemed reasonable since the trolley has no play in it - something has to flex.

Now I have cleaned and greased the screw and mast, replaced the LCD screen, noticed that my stepper motor was very loose and screwed it back in (leaving some play), tried multiple vats and resins, and following lobo09's lead, even heated up my workshop (aka garage) to 78F. And still the problem persists. So very frustrating.

At this point I don't see how it can be anything but the stepper. I'm working (very slowly) with Elegoo support on it, so hopefully I get some answers there.
