film came off LCD screen
#1
Hi

I stupidly scrapped too hard to get a stuck failed print of the FEP screen and didnt notice that it caused a small hole in the film. During a subsequent print the resin leaked through that hole then cured directly onto the LCD screen underneath the tank.

Upon trying to scrape that off a film peeled away from the LCD screen. I don't know exaclty what to call this film but it seems to be important as the printer no longer works at all.

Can I just replace this film or do I have to replace the whole LCD. If I can just replace the film what is it called and where do i get it?

Thanks

The "film' is most likely the top polarizing layer of the LCD--I.e. you need a new LCD--the good news is that as it is a "consumable" component (lasting only 250 to 300 hours of printing) they only cost $30 or so.

Next time. remove and drain the resin vat--the FEP will flex and you can remove the stuck print with your fingernail...
