Lizard Issue
#1
Hi there y'all.
The wife bought me an Elegoo Mars Pro 2 for christmas and I've been printing stuff off it with some spectacular results.
UNTIL:
I decided to give it a good clean out!

On the exposure plate there was some dried resin. As you would, I picked at it with my fingernail. What I initially thought was a glass plate turned out to be some sort of film which subsequently lifted and came away, taking with it the pic tape surrounding it. I replaced the film with some FEP film and covered the edges in a blackout tape.
Everything I printed after that was rubbish. See picture attached. (I'm not sure whether this will show up or not, I put it in as an attachment)
The two lizards are printed from the same file. The grey one is the latest, the yellow one is an old one that is on its first coat of paint. Before the film replacement I printed seven of these without issue. The later one, although everything is in place with all details, has lines of resin coming off it parallel to the longest side of the plate.

In short, have I knackered the machine up completely or can I get a replacement film and seal from somewhere? If so, where?

That glass is part of the LCD assembly, they do sell the part ($50): https://www.elegoo.com/collections/parts...ome-2k-lcd
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LGGH62X/

There is a replacement video on the elegoo page.

Edit: I read your post more carefully, There shouldn't be any film above the glass. Maybe yours was assembled weird and the screen protector was under the black tape? On mine the black tape is applied directly to the glass. By adding the FEP film you probably increased the distance between the LCD and the part too much causing it to be poorly masked. Try just adding new black tape to seal the lcd glass to the printer.

The upper polarizing layer is a VERY thin flexible glass-like material that is often described as a "film"--without it the LCD shutter cannot function.

The lower polarizer (rearmost in the illustration) orients the light to a particular polarity--in the OFF STATE the liquid crystals pass the polarized light with no change in polarity, thus it is blocked by the upper (foremost) polarizer mounted at 90° relative to the lower film. When each liquid crystal element is energised it twists, twisting the light passing through it and thus allowing it to pass through the top polarizer.
